Genealogy

Among Stephen’s many interests is family history. He has over 10 years of experience in genealogical research. He has extensively researched his own family’s history, building on the work of other family members to trace his family tree back over 30 generations, covering more than 1,000 years of history. Stephen has also provided research services and advice to others, always enjoying helping them along the journey of discovery into their own family’s history.

A member of the UK Society of Genealogists since 2016, and with higher education to Masters Degree level, Stephen has developed excellent research skills and has gained experience in archival research, as well as many other areas, such as tracing burial sites or distant living relatives. He conducts research to a high standard of academic rigour, and always endeavours to follow the Principles of Genealogical Research as described by the Society of Genealogists (SoG), as well as the Code of Practice for researchers as set out by the Association of Genealogists & Researchers in Archives (AGRA).
